Effective waste segregation and recycling, with plasterboard, metals and glass all separated for re-use or recycling
Evidence of material re-use onsite, such as blinds stored for reinstatement and timber repurposed for protective coverings
Strong environmental awareness among supervisors, supported by policies referencing legislation and recognised standards
Good housekeeping, efficient use of resources and the safe use of energy-saving measures such as LED lighting installations

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT

During the audit, we highlighted several opportunities for further enhancement, including:

Developing a formal Air Quality and Dust Management Plan
Creating a Spill Response Plan to complement spill kits
Toolbox talks to cover sustainability themes such as waste reduction, energy efficiency and biodiversity
carbon tracking templates to record project-specific impacts like travel mileage, waste generation and management
