Accidents and unexpected incidents can occur on any project but what truly matters is how they are managed afterwards. In recent months, our CDM consultants have witnessed situations where external parties have attempted to influence how workplace incidents were reported, and how injuries were documented. This has raised some key concerns.
M.L.A. helps clients in the following areas to comply with RIDDOR:
Basingstoke | Bracknell | Guildford | Reading | Tunbridge Wells
Our CDM consultants also cover all surrounding counties and the UK.
We understand that clients may feel some pressure if faced with such circumstances. However, a reportable accident must be recognised and dealt with accordingly. It is also important to remember someone may have been harmed. This makes prevention, transparency and education from such events the healthiest, and the most constructive approach.
M.L.A. is here to guide and support you through the process.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
A REFRESHER ON RIDDOR REQUIREMENTS
Due to RIDDOR, which covers the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013, certain incidents should be reported directly to the UK’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Reportable incidents include:
Serious Workplace Injuries
RIDDOR also covers Injuries sustained in confined spaces that result in hypothermia, heat-related illness, unconsciousness, resuscitation and all incidents leading to hospital admission exceeding 24 hours.
Extended Absences
Dangerous Occurrences
Occupational Diseases
Non-Employee Injuries
All RIDDOR-reportable events have a specific deadline for notifying the HSE. Contact the CDM consultants at M.L.A. as soon as possible so we can provide the best support and ensure regulatory compliance.
Workplace health and safety standards in the Basingstoke, Bracknell, Guildford, Reading and Tunbridge Wells areas, and across the South of England, should always remain upheld with RIDDOR firmly in mind.
