CDM2015 – Principal Designer and Advisory Services
M.L.A. is a Corporate Member of the Association for Project Safety and has supported construction clients, designers and contractors for over 12 years. Our team provides practical and experienced Principal Designer and CDM 2015 consultancy, helping duty holders understand their responsibilities and apply the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations in a clear and effective way.
We work closely with clients, designers and Principal Contractors to help plan, manage and deliver projects safely and in accordance with CDM 2015 and recognised industry best practice. Our approach is pragmatic and proportionate, supporting project teams while helping ensure legal compliance.
Our CDM consultancy services are delivered across England, including London and the surrounding counties of Berkshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
CLIENT ADVISOR
M.L.A. can serve you as client advisors to ensure that your duties under CDM2015 (Construction Design Management Regulations) are discharged. M.L.A. will ensure that the client receives professional and proportionate advice, and that duty holders are both competent and comply with their duties during the process. M.L.A will prepare and disseminate pre-construction information, notifying the project (where applicable) to the HSE and monitoring the Principal Contractor.
PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
M.L.A. provides industry-leading construction design management expertise when appointed as the Principal Designer under CDM2015 (Construction Design Management Regulations). M.L.A. has been appointed in this role on projects ranging in value between £250K and £50 million. We have provided comprehensive and detailed support on a multitude of projects, including new build housing, commercial to residential, office refurbishment, light industrial, demolition and many more.
As Principal Designer, and as CDM consultants, you can expect us to coordinate health and safety information in the pre-construction phase, collaborate and communicate with other duty holders, advise on design risk management and adopt the general principles of prevention within the design.
PRINCIPAL DESIGNER ADVISOR
As well as being appointed directly as the Principal Designer, M.L.A. also works in partnership with organisations and architects in an advisory capacity. Our advisory services allow us to provide practical and real-world advice to both the lead and Principal Designers, ensuring design risks are identified, eliminated or mitigated with proportionate control measures. We support the design team by focusing on the health and safety of clients in London, Berkshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, Sussex and nationwide who are not just involved in the design, but also those who will go on to work in, or on the structure, throughout its life cycle.
BUILDING SAFETY ACT (BSA) ADVICE
Whilst M.L.A. cannot act as the BSA Principal Designer legally, and it must be an individual or organisation with technical design competence in the role, we advise and support duty holders in the role of CDM consultants and, in particular, clients who need to make the correct appointments. The differing duties of a CDM PD and BSA PD are clear so be wary of CDM2015 (Construction Design Management Regulations) professionals offering both services.
